ABSTRACT

Purpose: This study, on this basis of Turkey, determined physiological factors affecting individuals' being infected by the COVID-19 virus. Material and Methods: For this purpose, on 1104 individuals above the age of 18;necessary data are collected and assessed. Results: The women went through COVID-19 more severely when compared with men. It is also seen that smokers were less infected by COVID-19. It is seen that sunbathing, exercises, sleeping and using minerals did not have positive effects against the disease;usage of plant-based agents did not have positive effects on individuals' resistance against COVID-19 on severeness of the disease and results obtained after usage of medicines;surprisingly, individuals, who used probiotics/prebiotics were in a disadvantageous position against COVID-19. It is seen that individuals had significant changes in their feeding habits. Participants mostly preferred organic animal -based products. It is also seen that there were significant changes in individuals' habits on consumption. It is determined that there was a decrease in the amount of shopping from supermarkets, while at the same time, there was an increase in the amount of shopping from online platforms. Conclusion: The COVID 19 pandemic disrupted many known memories for other pandemics and led to unique new situations.

ABSTRACT

Healthy lifestyle is one of the most important factors in the prevention of premature deaths, chronic diseases, productivity loss, obesity, and other economic and social aspects. The workplace plays an important role in promoting the physical activity and wellbeing of employees. Previous studies are mostly focused on individual interviews, various questionnaires that are a conceptual information about individual health state and might change according to question formulation, specialist competence, and other aspects. In this paper the work ability was mostly related to the employee's physiological state, which consists of three separate systems: cardiovascular, muscular, and neural. Each state consists of several exercises or tests that need to be performed one after another. The proposed data transformation uses fuzzy logic and different membership functions with three or five thresholds, according to the analyzed physiological feature. The transformed datasets are then classified into three stages that correspond to good, moderate, and poor health condition using machine learning techniques. A three-part Random Forest method was applied, where each part corresponds to a separate system. The obtained testing accuracies were 93%, 87%, and 73% for cardiovascular, muscular, and neural human body systems, respectively. The results indicate that the proposed work ability evaluation process may become a good tool for the prevention of possible accidents at work, chronic fatigue, or other health problems.

ABSTRACT

The pandemic that started in 2019 in Wuhan caused a vast number of deaths worldwide due to the absence of effective therapy against SARS-CoV-2. The present study investigates the interaction of AMP with viral protein and host receptors. We screened plant-derived antimicrobial peptides (AMP) from the docking web server with the help of PDB ID. We selected five anti-microbial peptides based on their antiviral and physiological activities. The interaction of anti-microbial peptide and Mpro was analyzed using the HADDOCK web server. The results revealed that the minimum Z-score was obtained by the 6LU7-1N4N complex followed by 6LU7-1GPS docked complex. The docking results showed the interaction potency of AMP with 6LU7. The dynamic simulation study of 100ns was performed to check the stability of the docked complexes of AMP and 6LU7. From the stable and positive results of dynamics studies, we can conclude that these selected AMPs have immense potential to be used as therapeutic agents for the treatment of disease. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.
